Pro Bono Huminum

The Pro Bono Huminum award is presented by the Prix Galien Russia committee to exemplary individuals, companies, academic institutions or Non-Governmental Organizations that have made innovative efforts to improve access to biopharmaceutical treatment for underserved populations.

This year the Prix Galien Committee selected the Deti Bela Foundation and Ksenia Rappoport for their commend able action to offer hope and practical care to children affected with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

EB is a group of rare diseases that cause the skin to blister. In severe cases blisters may occur inside the body, such as the lining of the mouth or intestines and cause death.

Although EB has no known cure, Deti Bela supports families with aid in the acquisition of essential drugs, education and training of specialists, nursing patients with BE and providing information and methodological support to physicians.

The Pro Bono Humanum is presented by Prof. Leonid Roshal President of the National Medical Chamber of Russia

Ksenia Rappoport

Ksenia Rappoport is the President of the Board of Trustees of the Deti Bela Foundation. She is also a leading actress of the St. Petersburg Maly drama Theatre and an honored Russian artist.
